Aven Stereo Zoom Scopes Offer Choices of Stands, Lenses, Eyepieces
ANN ARBOR, MI – Aug. 23, 2010 – A new Stereo Zoom Microscope line is available with varied configurations for application-driven adaptability.
The binocular SSZ-30 models from Aven, Inc. magnify from 7x to 30x and have wide-field eyepieces that magnify the intermediate image by 10x.
Flexibility is provided by a choice of pole, column or boom stand. One pole stand model comes without illumination, while others feature long-life white LED lighting that can be dimmed.
"These high-quality, affordable instruments let users configure a system to fit their needs," says Mike Shahpurwala, president of the optical and precision tools supplier based in Michigan. "Auxiliary lenses and eyepiece options further expand opportunities to customize the body."
As with any stereo microscope, images from each objective lens converge in the eyepieces to deliver a three-dimensional stereoscopic view. This is particularly useful for circuit board inspection or repair, SMT work, electronics inspection, gemology and gemstone setting, engraving and QC checks or maintenance of small parts.
Aven`s SSZ-30 models provide a field of view of 6.7 mm to 28.6 mm, depending on magnification. Lenses have a zoom range of 0.7x to 3x. The pole or column is 330 mm on illuminated versions and 305 mm on the alternative without LEDs.
Each includes a dust cover and black/white reversible stage plate, plus a frosted glass plate with illuminated models.
Eyepieces with 15x or 20x magnification are available, as are four additional lens options (0.5x, 0.63x, 0.75x and 2x).
